These pullets were hatched June 14th, 2014. There are 9 Easter Eggers and 4 Buff Orpingtons left.

I know what an Ameracauna is and I know what an Auracauna is. I've heard different (and vague) descriptions of Easter Eggers. Could you please tell me about them? I'm looking for more blue egglayers. My customers love all the different colors in my egg basket! Your Easter Eggers may work for me....and your buffs. Thank you for your time.

Araucana do not have the muffs/tufts (puffy cheeks!) or beards and are "rumpless", don't have big tails.
Ameraucanas have tails, muffs and beards and possess the gene for true blue eggs.
And Easter Egger is.....well, kinda', either or!! It possesses the blue egg laying gene but might not necessarily lay a blue egg. The easter eggers......those that we have DO have muffs, beards and tails. They will lay a pastel colored egg. Might be light blue, might be pinkish, have a green tint......any variety of those colors. MOST of what we have gotten from these breeders produce a light blue or light green color but we can NOT guarantee that!
In the past when we have ordered them, we have ordered Amaraucanas but they have shown up without muffs or tails. For the most part, according to APA standards what we have are probably classified as Ameraucanas BUT we feel much better calling them "Easter Eggers" because we don't want someone purchasing them for 4H and finding out that they do not fit perfectly within the standards.
We have recently invested a great deal of $$ into some Ameraucanas, from lines that are true to breed standards and SHOULD produce BLUE eggs. Currently, we do not have any of those for sale, we will next summer if all goes well!!

So.......these "Easter Eggers" do have muffs, beards and tails. They are very pretty and they will lay a pastel colored egg BUT I can not tell you what color that might be!

If you are interested please let me know ASAP. I have no idea how long they will last!

Thank you,
Amanda and Marcy
