I have had several people ask me about breeding rights, over the past few weeks, more specifically wanting to breed their Merle to our Merle. We do NOT normally offer breeding rights. We will however make exceptions after determining if your breeding program matches up with ours. The main reason for this is because we have done hours of research and traveled all over the US to get our dogs. We are dedicated to breeding as true to breed standards as possible. We breed for not only confirmation but most importantly health and temperament.
BREEDING A MERLE TO A MERLE is NOT a good idea. It can cause health problems in the puppies, (lethal white). Some breeders who have done lengthy genetic research will attempt this risky match to get 1 perfect puppy out of an entire litter and take the chances with either losing puppies or dealing with the consequences (deafness, blindness and/or underdeveloped organs. And in most cases they will euthanize the "not perfect" puppies remaining in the litter.) If you are considering breeding, PLEASE do your research first. There are also other factors that can breed undesirable traits into your puppies. Keep in mind breeding a Merle to a Merle is a BAD thing, even if you know what you are doing.
