Its that time of year again and we are trying to make a decision as to what “special breeds” we will be ordering for the spring.

Please follow this link (http://www.ourlittlebitranch.com/chicks-and-other-poultry.html)  to see what breeds we normally have then send us an email to let us know what breeds you would like to see us offer. Also if you would be interested in purchasing them as young pullets (4-6 weeks of age) or closer to laying hen age (4-6 months).

We are not taking deposit or placing orders YET. We are still in the process of trying to determine what breeds to look into and if there are enough people interested in purchasing laying hens rather than pullets if we can make the room to facilitate a large number of the older birds.

BUT.....keep in mind, if there is something specific that you are looking for let us know. We will research the breed, where we can get the best deals and get back to you with a price. If you know that there is something that you are dying to have, and we don’t think we will be able to sell a minimum of 100 of them we WILL place a special order for you. In order to do this you must pay a 50% deposit up front.

In addition...... in the spring months we tend to sell out of pullets very quickly. If you know that you are interested in a breed that we normally have, (listed on the website) we suggest that you place a deposit to reserve those pullets ahead of time. We will be ordering larger quantities this spring BUT we are only set up for so many at a time.

Pricing and availability.......... We do NOT hatch the pullets here. They come from a hatchery therefore we do not know the exact dates that we will have pullets and unfortunately we don't always know the exact numbers that we will have. Generally when we order 100 pullets we do have some loss and in raising them for 4-6 weeks and sometimes longer there is almost always a few more lost :( SO....if you wish to place a deposit on pullets we will do our best to give you a time frame and we will contact you as soon as the pullets arrive.

Pullets are ordered from NPIP certified hatcheries and are vaccinated for Mereks Disease.

We will be looking into the Buff Orpington. In the past, not may people have been interested in them :( when we order a breed we normally order anywhere from 50 to 100. Of We can't sell 50, we end up stuck with them and they aren't our top pick either! Nothing wrong with them, they just aren't our favorite :) of we decide to order them we will be sure to put them on the website.
Thanks :)
