We breed dogs......... that means we have cute puppies, we raise and play with cute puppies and then they go to their new homes. I am totally ok with that!!! We have rescued a few dogs. We play with them, make sure that they are well adjusted and re-home them. So far I have been ok with that.
Today Star was EXTREMELY lucky and found an amazing family that has promised to give her the time and attention that she truly deserves.
I am not sure how many of you know the story about Star. We traveled to MO over a year ago to purchase her to add to our breeding program only to discover that she came from less than ideal living conditions. We ended up bringing her along with several other dogs and puppies home with us. Very quickly it became obvious to us that Star was not fit to be bred........ well maybe if you are a puppy mill and don't care about your dogs........ But we do and we decided that the best thing to do for Star was to have her spayed. Star has come a long way from the frightened, skittish puppy that we brought home at 8 month of age. But she still needs a lot of work. Unfortunately I am unable to provide her with the attention she deserves and both Star and I have been waiting for a while now for the perfect family to come along and give her a home.
I am so happy that she has found such a great home but I am also very sad to see her go. I think that rescuing dogs is out of the question from here on out!!!
